Dr. Larry Dake, Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Larry Dake is the Superintendent of Schools for the Chenango Valley Central School District. Since 2011, he has served as an administrator overseeing curriculum and data, serving as a building principal, and since 2016, as an Assistant Superintendent. Before that, he was a Social Studies teacher in the Vestal Central School District and served stints as Student Government Advisor and Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.

As an Assistant Superintendent across two districts, Dr. Dake served as the point person on Prek-12 Instruction, Personnel/Human Resources, and Budget. He also served as a Rotarian and was a board member of the Broome County Arts Council and the Greater Binghamton Educational Outreach Program (GBEOP).

Originally from Walton, NY, in Delaware County, Dr. Dake attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA, for his undergraduate degree and then Binghamton University for their master’s program, Certificate of Advanced Studies, and finally, Doctorate in Educational Theory and Practice, finishing the final program in 2014.

Dr. Michelle Feyerabend, Assistant Superintendent

Dr. Michelle Feyerabend joined the Chenango Valley Central School District in July 2017 as the Assistant Superintendent. During her time at CV, she has also served in the role of Interim Superintendent. Dr. Feyerabend came to our district from the Johnson City Central School District where she served as Director of Academic Coaching. Dr. Feyerabend taught Spanish for nine years, with four of those years being here at Chenango Valley! She has had experience as an elementary principal for nine years in both the Deposit Central School District and Union-Endicott Central School District.
 
Dr. Feyerabend attended Binghamton University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and her Master’s Degree in Teaching. She attended SUNY Cortland for her Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration. She earned her educational doctorate from Binghamton University. Dr. Feyerabend is married to her husband Chris and has two children, Troy and Hayley. Dr. Feyerabend is active in the community. She's served over five years on the Broome County Emergency Response team.

Dr. Feyerabend remains focused on all aspects of the district, from instruction to safety, and working with the Board of Education to provide the best possible learning environment for students and staff at Chenango Valley CSD. 

Mrs. Elizabeth Donahue, School Business Executive

Elizabeth Donahue has served as the School Business Executive for the Chenango Valley Central School District since 2008. She is responsible for the oversight of district operations including facilities, transportation, food service, budget development, purchasing, capital projects, insurance, and civil service. She also organizes the district’s annual job fair to support recruitment efforts.
 
Prior to joining Chenango Valley, Mrs. Donahue spent 25 years in the banking and finance industry, attaining the title of Assistant Vice President and managing multiple branch offices. She also held licenses in financial investments and insurance and was responsible for regulatory and procedural compliance.
 
A proud graduate of the Thousand Islands Central School District and SUNY Oswego, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematical Economics. She is active in the local ASBO chapter and the Chenango Valley Alumni Association.
 
Mrs. Donahue and her husband, William (CV Class of 1977), live in the district. Their daughters, Megan (CV Class of 2007) and Ivy (CV Class of 2011), are both Chenango Valley graduates. They are proud grandparents of four grandchildren including Emma (CV Class of 2030) and Aiden (CV Class of 2032).

Tom Curry, Director of Curriculum

Tom Curry's absolute passion is to work with and support all faculty, staff, students, families, and community members to create a strong, collaborative foundation for student success.

Mr. Curry received his bachelor's in vocal performance from Boston University, a master's in music education from Hofstra University, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership from Binghamton University.

Mr. Curry and his family moved to the Binghamton area from Long Island in 2016. He began his career in education at Deposit Central School District as the Pre-K through grade 12 music and chorus teacher. When he saw the posting for the Chenango Valley Kindergarten through grade 5 music and chorus position, he immediately applied. Mr. Curry had heard such wonderful things about the Chenango Valley Central School District and could not pass up such a great opportunity to focus his passions at the elementary level. He spent two years as the Port Dickinson and Chenango Bridge music and chorus teacher. During the 2020-2021 school year, Mr. Curry was the Dean of Students for grades 9-12 at Chenango Valley High School. Mr. Curry was excited to rejoin the Chenango Bridge family as the building principal. He is now excited to take on the role of Director of Curriculum.

It is Mr. Curry’s goal to sustain a holistic, safe environment for students to learn and grow. Reading, writing, math, science, social studies, music, art, physical education, and social-emotional learning each play a key role in the education of our students. When we all work together to support these subjects' skills and standards, our students will hear a consistent message that will lead them toward success. Mr. Curry hopes to work with the school community to build a strong foundation so our students can achieve their full potential.

Mr. Brad Tomm, Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics and Assistant Principal

Brad TommBrad Tomm joined the Chenango Valley School District in October of 2012 as the Director of Athletics, Physical Education, Health and Assistant Principal 7-12. Mr. Tomm has been in the field of education for the past 16 years. He has worked as a physical education teacher, GED teacher, a student support specialist for Broome Tioga BOCES. He has also worked as an assistant principal for BT BOCES CTE and Building Principal for BT BOCES East Learning Center.

Mr. Tomm holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland, a Master’s degree in School Counseling from SUNY Oneonta and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Jones International University.

Mr. Tomm is married and has two sons who attend Chenango Valley Central School District.

Mr. Tomm continues to be excited and honored to be a part of the Chenango Valley Central School District and looks forward to serving the students, staff and families within our districts. 

Mrs. Johanna Hickey, Director of Pupil Services

Johanna Hickey
Johanna Hickey recently joined the Chenango Valley Central School District as the Director of Pupil Services. Prior to joining Chenango Valley, Mrs. Hickey worked as a teacher and administrator for the Union-Endicott Central School District for 18 years. During her time with Union-Endicott, Mrs. Hickey worked as a K-12 music teacher, elementary assistant principal, middle school associate principal and most recently as an elementary principal. She also served as the K-12 Music Department Chair and 6th-12th grade English Department Chair.  

Mrs. Hickey received her bachelor’s degree in music from Ithaca College. She received her master's degree in Educational Studies and her Certificate of Advanced Studies from Binghamton University. Mrs. Hickey is married to her husband Andrew and they have two children, Iris and William.

Mrs. Hickey is excited to be a part of the Chenango Valley Central School District. She looks forward to meeting and working with the CV community.

Mrs. Tara Williams Whittaker, Director of Special Education

Tara Williams WhittakerTara Williams Whittaker joined the Chenango Valley School District in September of 2012 as the Interim Director of Early Childhood and Literacy. She was appointed the Director of Special Education effective July 1, 2014.  Mrs. Whittaker has been in the field of education for the past 27 years. She has worked as a Special Education Teacher, a Student Support Specialist and Transitions Coordinator, a Director of Special Education and Interim Director of Early Childhood and Curriculum. Tara has served in the Oxford Central Schools, Broome-Tioga BOCES, Sherburne-Earlville Central Schools, Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES and currently Chenango Valley Central Schools.


Mrs. Whittaker holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta, a master’s degree in Special Education from Binghamton University, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration from SUNY Cortland.

Mrs. Whittaker is married and has two sons, one who graduated from Ithaca College and one who is a current student at Ithaca College.

Mrs. Whittaker loves working for Chenango Valley Central School District, supporting students, families and staff.

 

Mrs. Sarah Latimer, Director of Technology

Sarah Latimer

Sarah Latimer joined the Chenango Valley Central School District in March 2013. Prior to joining Chenango Valley, Mrs. Latimer taught in the UECSD as a librarian in the elementary and middle schools for five years and as a teacher on special assignment for four years. As a teacher on special assignment, Sarah served as the district’s instructional technology coordinator, designing and teaching professional development and assisting in technology implementation plans. During her time in U-E, she was a frequent presenter at and served on the Board of Directors for the Endicott Educational Resource Center. Prior to U-E, Sarah began her teaching career in Andes, NY as a K-12 librarian for two years. Mrs. Latimer received her B.A in Japanese and Linguistics from SUNY Albany, her Masters of Library Science from SUNY Buffalo and her Certificate of Advanced Studies from Binghamton University.

Mrs. Latimer lives in Endwell with her husband Jeremy, son Abrahm, and daughter Annabelle.
